***WARNING... PICTURE OVERLOAD!***

Yesterday after work I really wanted to go take some pictures so that I could get some practice using my camera.  Since we have no kids, no pets, and no natural modeling skills I was kind of putting off really using my camera.  Plus I didn't want to use it just to find out that I am a stinky photographer.

All that being said we went out anyway.  I learned a LOT of things from my mistakes, but I also learned that if I just kept tweaking things, I could actually take a decent picture now and again.  Don't get me wrong, by no means are these anywhere close to professional pictures... but I thought they turned out pretty good for my first real try and portraits.  (Especially considering the fact that the ones of us are taken with a tripod and remote!)

Any tips from you photographers out there would be greatly appreciated, so I can grow up to be as awesome as you :)

***The main thing I learned was NEVER FORGET YOUR REFLECTOR WHEN TRYING TO SHOOT INTO THE SUN :/  big oops hahah.  Oh well, better luck next time!

1.  I learned that we went out a little too early because the lighting was definitely better towards the end of the photoshoot... or maybe my husband is just a better photographer than me.  Thats ok, I guess I'll get to be in all the pictures with the future kids :)

This face............................ is what brought on the next face..........

Cutest husband award... over here!!!!

2.  Cue the tripod and remote.... In some of the pictures you can see the remote.  I learned that you should be discrete with the remote so you don't have to practice interesting cropping hahah.

(The remote was in my hand behind his  neck hahha OOPS)

3.  I learned that sometimes the auto-focus doesn't find you face super well...

4. Location, Location, Location.... this location was a lot better, and allowed for different poses.

5.  Try to teach your awesome hubby how to focus the camera haha  I can tease because I already complimented him all night the he is a better photographer than me.

***Also, try not to pose in such a way that makes you look super preggers. YOWZA!!!

Like I said... No natural modeling abilities here.

These were the coolest reeds ever.. they were so fluffy and awesome!

 6.  Sometimes you just gotta let loose!

SOOO out of focus, but I love how you can still see our silly expressions.

Yeah I didn't take this picture... I was messing around with settings and he snapped it of himself.  Notice the remote in the right hand :)

Breakfast Club pose.  Again, out of focus, but still pretty cool.  This photoshoot deserved a fist pump in my opinion.
Welp, that's all folks... I warned you that it was picture overload!

Graduation!

This weekend was my graduation from college! Woo woo!  I was finished with school in December, but they don't have a graduation ceremony until April... so, things were a smidge anti-climatic.  I'm not saying I didn't enjoy myself, because I did.  All I'm saying is, that overwhelming relief of being done with school came in December, around Christmas time.

The College of Life Sciences is the biggest college at BYU, and we felt it.  The ceremony took over two hours to call everyones name! Holy Cow!  But when the time came, it was fun to hear my name called throughout the Marriott Center, and hear my family screaming their lungs out haha

I'm grateful that I was able to have so many family members come out to support me on my graduation day!  We didn't get to snap too many pictures because the ceremony ran over and I was starving to get to Riverside for dinner.

Some of my graduation teammates at the Student Athlete Graduation Banquet!

Cougar Alum Baby!

At the whole school Commencement... it was very sunny :/ haha

Granny came to cheer me on, and then afterwards we went to Waffle Love, and then to the BYU Mens Volleyball Game!

Waiting for my name to be called.  Surprisingly they got it right!  (The lady had to write it phonetically on the card)

"Don't trip, don't trip!"

I think in a few days I am going to have Daniel put on his cap and gown too, and we will take a few together.  And maybe snap some in front of the BYU sign and all that stuff.  Better to wait for all of the crowds to subside before we venture out there, in my opinion.

Wow haven't posted in a while. Fail!

A lot has happened since last posting I guess.  For starters, I am an official college graduate (minus the walking in the graduation ceremonies... that comees in April).  I do have my real diploma already though, which is pretty cool haha I feel legit :)

I started working at Eyre Dermatology (yes my dads office) as a medical assistant.  I am getting to use my anatomy and physiology experience as well as my phlebotomy certification which is great!  I am very grateful to have a job and be gaining awesome experience in this tough economy where it is so hard to find jobs.

Daniel was accepted to Midwestern University (which was his first choice) for a Doctorite of Pharmacy program!  He has also received interview invites to every other school that he completed the applications too, so we're pretty proud!  He has an interview with another top choice school in South Jordan, UT in February so we are preparing for that and hoping it goes well.  Then we will have to decide where we feel like we need to be for the next few years!

We took a trip a few weeks ago to visit family down in California as well as check out the housing situation around Midwestern University which is in Glendale, AZ.  Apartments were a lot more than we thought, but I guess we'll just tack on the extra cost to our future student loans.

For graduation Daniel, his parents, and my parents got me a saWEET nikon camera :)  Then for my birthday I got the nifty fifty lens and I am loving my camera.  I haven't gotten quite as much use out of it as I want, but its hard when you don't have kids to take pictures of, and you get home from work when it is already dark outside.

But I got to use it for our Christmas/New Years card, and when we took our Cali-Zona trip! (p.s. don't judge my photography skills... Like I said I am still learning!  Plus it is daunting to have my sisters and sis-in-law be pro photographers!)

Any tips from anyone would be greatly appreciated :)
